Visit to the Sydney Children's Hospital to Support the Day of Difference Foundation

I was delighted to meet with families at the Sydney Children’s Hospital today along with my wife Margie and daughter Bridget to support the Day of Difference Foundation.
The Day of Difference Foundation, started by Ron Delezio in the wake of two terrible accidents involving his daughter Sophie, is a reminder of how good can emerge from adversity.
Along with Ron, his wife Caroline, Sophie and her brother Mitchell, the Abbotts distributed the Day of Difference’s soft toy named ‘Tara’ to many of the children being cared for at the hospital. ‘Tara’ is a toy puppy named after Sophie’s first dog.
The Day of Difference Foundation does tremendous work in providing support for families with critically injured children. Each week, more than 1,000 children across Australia are hospitalised after sustaining an injury.
An injured child is every parent’s worst nightmare, and the Day of Difference is helping families through such difficult times.
The courage of the children, the dedication of the families and the work of the Day of Difference is an inspiration at anytime of the year, but more so at Christmas. I encourage all Australians to support the Day of Difference, through its ‘Tara’ program.
