Welcome to Warringah
As your local Federal Member for Warringah, my job is to represent you.
The Federal seat of Warringah extends from Mosman Bay in the south to Dee Why in the north and Garigal National Park in the west. Warringah is surrounded by beach and bushland enjoying a spectacular natural environment, which contributes to a distinctive way of life.
About 250,000 people live on the Northern Peninsula (with about 86,000 voters in the electorate of Warringah). More than 50 per cent of Warringah residents work on the peninsula, which has thriving manufacturing, IT and biotechnology industries as well as retail and tourism.
Warringah is one of the best places in the world to live and work until you have to travel somewhere else. Lack of adequate transport systems is probably the area’s biggest single problem. A recent Federal Government study suggested that a new road tunnel could, over the next two decades, add $4 billion amenity to the area in saved time and lower environmental costs.
The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust (announced by the Prime Minister 1998) is helping to preserve some of the great environmental assets of the area.
If you have any problems or issues involving Federal Government departments or programmes administered by the Federal Government, please contact my office.
